LG’s Google Assistant-Powered Speakers Now Up For Pre-Order
LG debuted a couple of new smart speakers at CES 2018, with Google Assistant inside, and now both of those are up for pre-order over at B&H Photo. It’s the LG WK7 and LG WK9, priced at $196.99 and $296.99, respectively. The LG WK7 is the normal Google Assistant speaker that everyone fell in love with at CES 2018, but the LG WK9 has a display included, which was a trend that was seen at CES this past year. That also explains why it’s $100 more than the regular Google Assistant speaker from LG.
These speakers are not just Google Assistant speakers, these also include ThinQ which is LG’s smart home platform. With ThinQ included, users are going to be able to talk to Google Assistant and control their other ThinQ appliances in their home. Like their washing machine, or their refrigerator and much more. Of course, it does have all of the same Google Assistant features that you’d find in any other smart speaker out there. That includes asking Google Assistant all kinds of questions, also using it to control your other smart home appliances like light bulbs, smart thermostats and more. These are both great options for those that are already deep in LG’s ThinQ platform, since the other speakers on the market do not support ThinQ.
The WK7 is going to be a great speaker to use on your desk or even in your living room. As it’s a pretty simple looking speaker from LG, but it will also provide some great audio quality. LG’s Tone series of headphones have been very popular, largely due to the style but also due to its sound quality. And that’s no different with the WK7. Now the WK9 doesn’t look as cool as the WK7, but that’s because there is a display between the speakers that are located on either side of the display. B&H Photo does not offer a ship date at this point, for either speaker. So it could be quite some time before they are actually shipping out to those that did pre-order either device.
