MediEvil Remaster - Potential Sequel Update

We know that Sony is working on bringing MediEvil back to the PlayStation brand after many, many years of being asleep, but fans of Sir Daniel Fortesque and his adventures might be in for a treat as new information comes to light.
According to new rumours, we might be seeing more than just the original game brought back for the PS4.
According to an employee from Target and Walmart on Twitter, it looks like we could be getting the sequel to the game included with the Remaster (it would make sense remastering the sequel - it was built in the same engine after all, and it did well for the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy when that launched on PS4 last year).
So that would mean we'll get MediEvil and MediEvil II both included in the same package.
According to the same rumours, collected here, w
e're also likely to see the game available for pre-order on April 19, after a reveal at PAX East on April 5.

MediEvil Remastered - Overview

Release date: TBA

MediEvil Remastered - What is it?

The game series was inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, and follows the story of an evil sorcerer named Zarok who is plotting to take over the kingdom of Gallowmere with his undead army.
Set in the year 1286 a charlatan knight - protagonist Sir Daniel Fortesque - was shot dead by the first arrow fired in combat whilst attempting to vanquish Zarok.
Zarok was killed in the battle, eventually, no thanks to Fortesque.
100 years later, Zarok reappears and casts a spell over Gallowmere to awaken his undead army.
The same spell revives Fortesque, and the game follows his quest to earn the heroic status that was denied in his life proper.

MediEvil - When will we hear more?

Given the information provided by Sony so far, it's fairly unclear when the studio intends to release the MeciEvil remaster. It could come at the tail end of 2018.
But with so many huge releases already planned to arrive in the last 4 months of 2018, it's possible the game could be an early 2018 release, just like the Shadow of the Colossus remaster.
Because of this, it seems even more unlikely that we'll learn anything more about the game anytime soon.
It's possible we could learn the odd tidbit of information or hear a rumour here to there, but any tangible news about the game is likely only going to come from a big industry event.
That's because Sony doesn't make a habit of making big game announcements out of the blue.
Instead, we'll probably hear more about the game in a couple of months, likely during Sony's E3 2018 Press Conference.
Of course, it's possible that with so many games to talk about, Sony could choose to avoid mentioning the game at E3 completely, maybe only showing a slice of gameplay in a bigger supercut of upcoming titles.
If that's the case it's plausible that more information will be shared at the Sony's PSX 2018 event, which has always been viewed, traditionally, as more of a fan event.
